1. Who we are

This site is operated by Charging Systems Inc. (“Charging Systems,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a US corporation. You can reach us at sales@chargingsystemsinc.com or via our Contact page.

2. Information you provide to us

When you submit a quote request from a product page, you give us the information you type into that form so we can prepare pricing and respond. This includes:

  • Your contact details: your name, business email address, phone number (if provided), and company name.
  • Your request: the part (SKU) and quantity you asked about, optional vehicle year/make/model, the ship-to ZIP code, and any notes you add.

You don’t need an account to request a quote. We only ask for what we need to get back to you with pricing and availability. Providing a quote request is voluntary, but we can’t respond without your contact information.

If you email us or use the Contact page, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and maintain a record of the conversation.

3. Information collected automatically

When you visit chargingsystemsinc.com, we collect a limited set of technical information automatically:

  • Device + connection data: IP address, browser user-agent string, screen size, language, referring URL, and the pages you view on our site.
  • Submission context: when you send a quote request, we also record the browser user-agent, the page that referred you, and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you arrived from, so we can understand which pages and campaigns generate inquiries.
  • Performance data: page load times and Core Web Vitals collected via Vercel Speed Insights. This data is aggregated and does not identify you individually.
  • Aggregate traffic counts: via Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not track individuals across sites.

We do not currently:

  • Offer customer logins or store customer account passwords
  • Process payments or store credit-card information on this site
  • Send marketing or promotional email
  • Use third-party advertising trackers or pixels
  • Sell or rent your information to anyone

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to your quote request with pricing and availability, and to contact you about that request
  • To follow up on your inquiry and, if it becomes an order, to fulfill and support it
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website
  • To detect and prevent abuse (rate limiting and blocking automated scrapers, using the IP address of the request)
  • To understand which products and pages customers find useful
  • To comply with legal obligations when required

We do not use your quote-request contact details to send marketing email. If we ever introduce a marketing or newsletter program, it will be opt-in and we will update this policy first.

5. How we share information

We share your information only as needed to run our business and respond to you. We do not sell or rent it.

  • Our team: quote requests are made available to Charging Systems sales and operations staff so they can prepare a quote and get back to you.
  • Service providers that host and store data on our behalf, listed in the next section. They process data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal + safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Charging Systems, our customers, or others.

6. Service providers we rely on

We use the following providers to operate the site. Each processes data according to their own privacy terms:

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The public storefront does not set first-party tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookieless. Our staff-only admin tool uses session cookies provided by Clerk to keep authorized employees signed in; these are not set for customers browsing the site. If we add features that require cookies for customers (such as a future customer login), we will update this policy and add a consent banner where required by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights with respect to your personal information, including:

  • The right to know what information we have collected
  • The right to request deletion of your information
  • The right to correct inaccurate information
  • The right to opt out of certain sharing or processing

To exercise any of these, email us at sales@chargingsystemsinc.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA):we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law. The categories of personal information we collect are identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (the products you ask about), and internet activity (device and usage data) — used for the business purposes described above. You may submit a verifiable request to know, delete, or correct your information at the address above, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

EU/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): our legal bases for processing are (a) taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — handling your quote request; (b) our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the website and preventing abuse; and (c) compliance with legal obligations. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability by emailing the address above, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Data retention

We keep quote requests and the related contact and company records for as long as needed to respond to you, to service any resulting business relationship, and to meet our legal, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations. Aggregated analytics data is retained for as long as it is useful for operating and improving the service. You can ask us to delete your information as described under “Your rights” above.

10. Children's privacy

This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We apply commercially reasonable safeguards to protect the information we collect, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest at our hosting providers, scoped access control on internal systems, and routine security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law if a breach occurs.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, post a notice on the site.
